Heaven Nor Hell

by The Queen of Spades   Oct 19, 2007

I didn't want to scream
And I didn't want to cry
But I couldn't escape me
Or my well-embellished lie

From the sun I felt cold
Through hunger I knew thirst
And the dichotomy of pain
Is what I felt the worst

The dreams I had planned
Were too late for tomorrow
Future already passed
With less joy than sorrow

Inside my broken body
I felt chains upon my soul
On my withered sanity
Was confusion's great toll

So at the end of the road
I found the start of pain
The land of dirt and shunning
Where morbid hearts reign

I didn't want to scream
And I didn't want to cry
But it helped relieve the fact
That I was going to die
