Lost somewhere along the way
A river ran along my cheek.
Past lips that tremble but dare not speak...
The second star on the right
And straight through the night to you...
Spring crawls slowly forward,
Chasing away cold winter nights...
I tried to dream of you and I,
Dancing through the starlit sky...
The fox looked up toward the moon
And thought "I could jump that high...
Creepy crawlies everywhere,
Up your back and in your hair...
When the leaves change
And the air grows cold...
The sun will come out tomorrow;
Barely visible through city haze.
A filter fit for social media.
A whisper escapes between my lips
And I stumble on the silence in the room.
Who knew words could sting so much.
Who knew I'd feel it too.
