Feeling Poetry

by Dark Savior   Nov 8, 2008

There are many different ways to feel
I'm not sure which one makes it real

I sit trying to figure them out a lot of times
I even put them together in over 5000 rhymes

That is what most people try to do
I'm sure at one point, you did too.

Poetry is the release for the epidemic
when things aren't feeling copacetic.

I can sometimes find the meaning through poetry
It gives me idea's already, the moods the melody

I sit here and free verse the whole situation
let my feelings out, without worry of retaliation

It's great, I can share myself and never feel unwanted
but still these feelings drape over me, like I'm haunted

There are so many different things that can be explained
through so many forms of poetry that is in it's own way the same

Not sure how to end or what I should say to end this
perhaps I will just put it to sleep like myself and rest

I liked this poem. The flow was ok though it kind of got off near the end where it was a bit harder to read. I like poems about poetry and you expressed your feelings well and I think its quite relatable by others. I know when I write its to get the darker more negative emotions out of my body..its a nice release. Though occasionally i have happy poems. Well done with this poem and keep up the good work.

Haha (: This is fabulous. "That is what most people try to do, I'm sure at one point, you did too. " How did you know (; This piece really brought a smile to my face, which was well needed so first of all thank you. I have been somewhat in a writing 'slump' which for me is very odd. I have never believed in writers block, and this poem has been a slap upside the head; reminding me that you can write whatever might be on your heart, at any time.

These two lines are the best thing I have
read in a while! The rhyme, the meaning,
    the flow: this poem was wonderful! The importance of simplicity (;

    Keep writing
    down the bones,

I do hope those last two lines are just a figurative speech, otherwise the Shaun I do like will be gone as well:(

Very well written. I write as a form of therapy and can say things in my poems "without worry of retaliation". Thanks for voicing these things that most of us must feel as well. Well done.
