Battle of the Seasons (Sedoka)

by Meena Krish   Mar 3, 2017

While winter sits guard
spring slips through the opening
its light dimmed by a cold touch,

The days become wild
as spring and winter wage war
to reclaim control on earth,

Disconcerting nights
becomes a silent witness
hoping for brighter mornings,

But winter holds strong
to the throne it sits upon
whilst spring struggles for power!

Beautifully penned. I wish spring always. But without losing there is no victory.

    Beautiful writing.

But she cannot hold back the spring
With one final fury, she coats the world in white overnight.
By morning she is gone, spring has won
She can never stop his ascending.

Funny how despite jack frost I always think of winter as female. Go figure lol
