Everyday Heros (we mere mortals)

I am not a man of iron,
I am made of flesh and blood.
I try to structure my own thoughts
But they're all misunderstood.

I am not a man dressed as a bat,
And I cannot spin a Web
But a man measured by his acts
And the things I've done and said.

I do not have amazing strength.
I can't make ice and cannot fly,
But I keep a strength you cannot see
It's the strength we keep inside.

I hold no mighty hammer,
No magical bow or sword.
But I still know how to fell a man
With sometimes just a word.

We cannot make a special suit,
And source it with a power.
But with a gentle touch, a little love,
You can always grow a flower

There is no special elixir,
That's turns muscle into rock.
But like a shepherd stood upon that hill,
You watch over your flock.

You do not have laser eyes,
You are not some other worldly being
But you do so much for those you love
Though your efforts not often seen.

We are not superheros
But this does not make us any less
Because to someone, you are like a god
So just keep doing your best.
