I Have A Dream

by CJ Maleney   Feb 22, 2018

I woke from a dream in the early hours,
But Martin Luther was not there.
No sense of foreboding at this time,
Nothing from which to run that scares.

All my mates were in it,
Those still here and those I've lost.
Both those who bounced off everything,
And those who paid a cost.

I don't normally dream in this way!
For I'm never one that looks to the past.
My eyes and feet forward facing,
And always following a path.

I did not dream of sadness or woe,
We were all having such a blast.
Drinking, partying and dancing,
But those dreams they never last!

So I pick up my pen and scribble,
Lest the memory be lost to time.
Some dreams are worth remembering,

And this

Is one

Of mine
