Pockets Of Air:

by Scott Cole   Oct 22, 2018

Life is as feeble
As run away bubbles,
Both a breath away
From respiratory trouble.

For without a mouthful
Of those puffs of air,
We both would suffer
Without our share.

For it shaply molds us
Enlivens our Soul,
With oxygen filled gases
That makes us whole.

So both are at risk
To take a tailspin,
For either only perserved
If there's air within.

Both are prone to hazards
That invade their airspace,
Those dangers in Life
That leave us displaced.

As conditions do change
Our livelihood will too,
For obstructed airways
Can break us in two.

We both do as we can
To maintain every breath,
Knowing that suffocation
Will lead to our death.

Like tiny floating bubbles
Our lifespan is short,
A sacred little breath
Away from abort.

Life is as feeble
As run away bubbles,
Both a breath away
From respiratory trouble.

As someone with COPD, I can relate to your message.
Every exacerbation feels like this could be the end.
"A sacred little breath away from abort"
I love this and it helps me accept the truth of my life.
