Tiny Spark

by CJ Maleney   May 4, 2017

A click of flint a spark so bright
A candle burns within the night
A little flame against the dark
The slightest warmth, it's where it starts

A tiny thing to fight the cold
But big enough to cup not hold
A little piece of hope of which to grip
Elemental, the purest gift

Never accept or embrace the dark
That flame it burns within your heart
Your will not even know it's there
But it burns away, wipes out despair

Nature that flame and keep it dear
The dark envelopes and always near
But feed the flame as it warms that heart
With a tiny spark a fire can start
