Your flight, my pain (mirror oddquain)

by Meena Krish   Aug 28, 2017

I
waited till
the distance consumed
you then let my vision blur,
whispers of prayer mingled with the air whilst
my unwilling heart thundered,
rain spilled… hoping it
won’t reach your
ears

for
there is no
point holding back a
heart that has sealed a firm choice,
let my pain be I’m one with it but know this…
I love you isn’t enough
to say how much I
truly love
you

It's been really difficult to pick my top 3 poems this week and even harder to pick my number one, there are just too many wonderful words.

However this piece really stood out for me. I love the way it is formatted and it certainly grasps the readers attention.

The poem itself is beautifully written and you can feel the emotion within it. It is such a shame something so beautiful is tinged with sadness.
