Smashed (unfinished)

So I like a beer
but I'm not an alcoholic?
You have to question this though,
Because for 3 days I've been on it

I will never partake of a spirit
But often I get smashed
It calms my nerves it calms my wits
When life seems like it's crashed

I often I think I'm at my end
But the booze sends me to sleep
So once again I'm off my line
Memories I'm cursed to keep.

Never out for very long
As the fog it soon will clear
Awake in the early hours again
Nothing drowned by that last beer

    This poses an interesting question Craig, of at what point does a harmless vice become harmful?
    I'm sure many of us can relate to this, especially the sleep bit.
    If you hadn't said, I wouldn't have thought it was unfinished. A thought provoking write :-) x

    Nothing wrong with posting as it is, Craig. That's what came and that's where it ended in your head...leave it there if I were you; it's honest.
    I can relate perfectly to this in all but the alcoholic beverage...a nice glass of red is more my tipple, but I have been known to sink a real ale from time to time.
