Jotting thoughts of you and me
Under a pregnant moon,
Never have I felt this distant
Empty or pained by the rain's tune

    Judging comment:

In very simple and few words, the poet expresses her feelings and as a reader, I caught onto those feelings very well. There is all - beauty, happiness and sadness in nature, but our own feelings are what we project in the world. Although the words are framed from the poet's own self and can be seen between the lines, it doesn't contain the reader from anything, especially how easily it can be connected to and felt by.

I read this at work and it took my breath away! I was not expecting an acrostic, and the brevity somehow made this piece more precious and nostalgic. I think my favorite part was "pregnant moon", as I can only picture the moon as shedding its full light, undisturbed. I used to love to describe nature as "pregnant" and remember writing about the "pregnant sun".

Then the sorrowful tone it takes in the last two lines is powerful. It makes me think of remembering someone and the light they brought, thinking of the actual distance as well as the way you have distanced yourself. Who are you now in this moment without this person next to you?

    Loved this so much <3
