Timeless

by Michael   Oct 7, 2018

I stopped moving
my hands were held up;
my face, said it all
I was at high noon
where time stood still

then at exactly the same time
I was picked from one pocket
into another

I fell through space
wondering what would
happen as I reached the bottom,
but there was no change
Just stuck a this pocket

I couldn't raise an alarm!

then it hit me,
I felt my face was numbered
as I fell to the ground
outside the entrance to a hotel
I was saved by the bell

Boy!

I was wound up.

should I prosecute I wondered
I had a strong case..

...but there again

my hands were freed
and I happily ticked along once more

proving
time is a great healer!

This is amazing Michael, so so fantastic to read.

I must disagree on one point though.

Time does not heal it just eases the pain slightly. Some wounds never heal. I also, despite being small in stature have a memory like an elephant and carry a grudge like a pack mule ;-)

"Time at the bar, if you please"
But always time for a gentleman's measure! ;)

This was really fun to read and I like the tones in this piece too, like you could also find the life lessons as Milly alluded to. Really neat personification or even metaphor though. I could also picture dealing with consequences of a situation we were thrown into, feeling like our hands are tied and there is no escape or second chance.

A most enjoyable piece with great visuals and I think the last part is just perfect. Too often people are quick to think prosecute but why? There is more to life than money and stress. Just getting back to ticking along and forgiving and forgetting is a great way of thinking. best wishes Milly x
