One Tough Cookie

Getting a call from my Daughter's Oncologist-

My heart stopped beating
as the phone carressed my ear-
"she never has good news"
I whisper.....

Biting my lip
so the tears
could not escape....

"Andrea, are you sitting down?"
I drop to the floor
as my hands carress
cold tile-

"She's in remission"

.
.
.
.
.
.

My 6 foot 1
daughter with almond eyes;
who should have been on hospice
a year ago; Has won the toughest
battle ever.

She would say to me
over
and
over
again

"Momma I got this"
trust me, I got this"

Her body is broken
kidneys are failing
but she is Cancer free.

My Birdy found her wings again.

At 4pm this afternoon
I received a call I never thought would come.
Robyn Bird is in remission.
2 year battle of chemotherapy has taken its toll on her body
but She is Cancer Free <3
She is Drug Free
and now I can breath a bit easier tonight.

I want to thank each and every one of you
who has been such a powerful support to me
and my Bird, we cant thank you enough.
