Blindness

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 4, 2020

is
shouting at
civilians standing
hand-in-hand in the
middle of the road;
your momentary
inconvenience
dulls in comparison
to a lifetime of
oppression.

Black lives matter.

    This is succinct and so, so important, MA. I can feel the anger and frustration seeping through my screen.

    This is a wonderfully executed sentiment Maryanne. Nothing more than that, other than the truth is so loud now.

    Your poems on this matter ring very true. It’s unbelievable what society has let slide for so many years because of an underlying prejudice towards a group of people, whether they knew they were fueling it or not.

    Nothing is a problem unless it’s a problem for them individually . We’re so disconnected from what’s important like love and trust in one another to speak up in times of need, to lend a helping hand and understanding shoulder. What a mess has been created.

    Black lives matter.
