Closing eyes can visualize
blond hair and blue;

eyes.

A tribute to your passing
is not something that words
can outline, only a fraction
of what you meant to me.

As a child you were my friend,
taking me to the dance so I didn't
have to go alone, saving me from
standing by as a wallflower.

Covid took you from us yesterday
like a silent wisp, 19 snatched
you up, stealing our childhood.

I'll never forget you- as I walked into
a room, a tall skinny girl with a flat smile-
You whispering " sit beside me" -

Ill never forget you.
