Delivered.

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 14, 2021

I never knew why I was here,
in this dimension,

if I would ever find a
light that would burn
forever,

or have enough time
to kindle my own will,
firewood of dusty bones.

It's more than
cultivating faith.

More than running away,
and returning home.

More than chasing the
seedlings that sprout
out of your consciousness.

More than the pool of gardenias
that map the multiverse.

It's never been about
the forks in the road,
the synapses of time,
the thrill of improbable travel.

It's always been about humility,
freeing the parts of
ourselves we've caged.

Understanding we
are not at the center
of every world.

And I believe in you,
even when I can't
trace back my reasons
for living,

I believe in

angels.

When I read this I was thinking it was about someone discovering themselves as the grew up and navigated through life with the many challenges that a young adult may face before they finally became comfortable living in their own skin and how they finally navigated themselves to that point so when I got to your footnote it threw me slightly to read that it was inspired by a TV show (one that I haven't seen)...to be honest I wish I hadn't read that part haha!!! Anyway thoroughly enjoyed it MA, well done.
