Yesteryears are certainly
Over but, you need to
Understand better why

Abuse found itself once again
Rendevouzing with you as
Enemies pretended to be pals.

Nooses around your neck even
Once you begged beautifully for
Truancy. No one came to your aid;

All alone, never allowed to
Leave the marital home
Only when he was with you,
Never fought back until
Enough was enough.

    We live in a cruel deceitful world. Sticks are serpents laid around ready to strike once your back is turned. How do we proceed? Do we check each and every one? Or do we find another safer route? I think we are bound to get bitten once in a while, but if we learn how to recognise them, our journey can become enjoyable.
