The Hermit

by Robert   Jan 20, 2005

From the lofty peeks of a mountain I look down
to a base of a summit just below the clouds crown.
I see a world unlike anyone has ever seen
of creatures with massive fur and eyes so keen.
The temperature, may be nippy cold at best,
but in this land of wonder you feel like a welcomed guest.
The view is breathtaking and just a wonder to be hold,
a beauty that far surpasses money or anything in gold.
The green grass draws life from the frozen snow,
and as the sun shines in summer the flower give a spectacular show.
The true treasure is given when the morning is graced by daylight,
and in between mountain and sky is where there lies a land out of sight.
I live up here day to day in this land just above the clouds crest,
and up here I know I can live my life at it’s very best.
I maybe alone and no one to see the beauty I see,
and believe me it the only place I can be free.
So enjoy your T.V., your cars and friends whatever inspires you to thrive,
for when I walk up here amongst the goats and flowers that when I know I am alive.

  • Good poem.
It flowed well and the rhyming didn't seem forced.
    Keep it up 5/5
