No sign of you...

My mind is wandering, taking me under
Hardly so swift, as harsh as the thunder
The rain is falling, slamming the ground
The thought of you is as constant as sound

I stare to the distance, expecting what I see
Nothing more than shadows of what used to be
The chill of the wind is so cruel as it leaves
Reminding me of the absence I grieve

I sit here alone, the world has turned away
My mind simply echos, "I promise I'll stay"
The lightning hits hard, mocking my sorrow
Its impact is the story of tomorrow

The gloom of the sky fills my heart with its wrath
The journey begins on this un-treaded path
Walking away and still falling behind
The spirit of today has you on its mind

I don't know where it leads, or what I shall do
Someday I may just come back for you
My tears have run dry, and yours will soon start
Remember this day as the day I fell apart

I hear you calling, as I drift further away
My only response is, "I promise I'll stay"
Stare off into the distance and you will see
Nothing more than shadows of what used to be
