Acrophobia. (Terza Rima Sonnet)

by Steven Beesley   Nov 1, 2005

Acrophobia:

As I tenderly walk along the cliff edge,
my heart begins to pound out of it\'s rib cage.
Treading carefully along the narrow ledge.

Careful of the steps I take, I need to gage.
So very fearful I may stumble and fall.
I am scared, my face is like a blank white page.

I am lost for courage, have lost all gall.
Petrified, I dare not look over the side.
Loose rubble in my way, makes me stand and stall.

Extremely worried that I may lose my stride.
Numerous cold shivers going up my spine.
So cautious, so that I will not slip and slide.

The path in front of me like a thin fine line.
Cold sweat pouring from me, I don\'t feel so fine.
