Second chance. (Choka)

by Steven Beesley   Nov 30, 2005

Second chance:

Think about the past,
about where I ventured.
All the misery.

That first love, was not!
Like a chain around my neck,
my soul in chains everyday.

My heart in a cell,
in a prison without walls.
Each day, agony.

Zombie in a spell.
Like a small bird in a cage,
no freedom, just a poor slave.

Love me, she did not!
Just a puppet on her chain,
for her beck and call.

Such insanity.
Respect, she had none for me.
Everything was about her.

Those days are all gone!
Now free from her treachery,
free to love once more.

I have now met love,
the one that is true to me.
She holds me close to her heart.

A second chance came,
this time there is no mistake.
This is really love.

Nice work Steve - I liked it... I'm going to take a shot at that style of poem. Never done it before. will be interesting to be held to rules and still try and come up with something that sounds OK... keep up the good work.
