Forgotten

by Stephy   Feb 18, 2006

Forgotten like yesterday's news
Like the source of your neighbor's blues
Forgotten like the loosing team
Like a childhood dream

Forgotten like the homeless man on the corner
Like a scribble on a piece of paper
Forgotten like a candy wrap on the floor
Like the misery of the poor

Forgotten because we didn't listen to our hearts
Because we drifted apart
Forgotten because we couldn't read between the lines
Because we left each other behind

Forgotten like a blown kiss
Like the meaning of a fist
Forgotten like the smell of rain
Like the intensity of pain

Forgotten like your last wish upon a star
Like the reason you went too far
Forgotten like last year's snow
Like the tears that never show

Forgotten because we stopped caring
Because the world kept on turning
Forgotten because we played with fire
And got burned with desire.
