Nothing

Eyes wide open
in the darkest place.
"this is not where I am" I say
to myself

yet I know I am mistaken.

This is destroying me.

"It was nothing"

she says \"only a dream

"If dreams were only dreams"
I whisper "I would never..."

My own sense silences me
as she gently falls asleep.

and as the night wanes
and is closing
I close my eyes and feel nothing

    I can't believe I missed this one. It was so profound with the depth you showed in each word.

    Not hard to imagine the unfolding of this as you used such words to draw us in.
