When names become a needless thing

by EoB   Jun 22, 2006

The grace of day to black will fade.
In shallow seas will lovers wade.
To seeming love the weak will cling
when names become a needless thing.

Our lust will don the robes of love.
No guiding stars will shine above.
From shapeless dreams, lost grief will spring
when names become a needless thing.

Our friends will trust their lying eyes
and bind us with once loving ties.
From endless ropes our hopes will swing
when names become a needless thing.

The beauty of the nights will fade
when names become a needless thing.
