The bruises fade

The bruises fade
but the pain remains the same.
Why do you keep me so afraid?
I hate the monster you've become.

I'm living in a war I call home.
Every time I'm with you, I feel all alone.
You made my blue skies turn black
With every painful smack.

You have everyone fooled
You put on an act
You play your cards good, thats a fact.

But if you go to far
everyone will know
just how heartless you really are
and how cruel you can be.
