Window To My World

Sometimes I get so angry
For what was torn from me
Other times I'm thankful
For what was left to see

Looking out this window
Everyday for many years
Brought some precious smiles
With a multitude of tears

Watching couples walking
Love laced in their hands
Makes me miss you more
Losing everything we planned

Yet often times I smile
When hearing the birds sing
Feeling the warmth of the sun
The happiness that it brings

This pane of glass my window
Looking out into the yard
Some days of brilliant sunshine
Some gloomy days so hard
