Does Anyone Notice?

by A l y s s a   Oct 22, 2007

She hides it all beneath a fake smile, a forced laugh.
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

She's trying to forget the pain that she's feeling. She ignores it, hoping it'll dissappear. But it doesn't.
Is she invisible? Is that why people don't see her? Don't understand her?
She blames herself, wishing she hadn't been so naiive.
She needs security. But there is none to be found.
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

She's cried enough tears to drown herself in. But she doesn't let anyone know.
The camera's flash in her face, but not even they can capture the real her.
She falls down and fights the urge within that tells her to stay down.
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

The world looks at her as just another 'girl', nothing special, nothing new. But they don't understand.
Is she worth someone special? Is she at all deserving? Why is she alone?
She has noone to help her, noone gives her a second glance. Isn't she worthy of one?
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

Even her dreams are filled with nightmares of failing and being forever forgotten.
She's stuck fighting a bitter battle, she holds out her hand for help but noone reaches for her.
She was deceived, lied to and disrespected. Why did she deserve all this?
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

Misunderstood by everyone around her, she gets shoved into the corner. Forgotten and neglected.
She stands in the rain, she wants to dance. But she's alone.
She walks like she doesn't need anyone, she talks like she's independent. But she's only hurting herself.
Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

She's afraid to let anyone get close incase they hurt her again. Is that why noone bothers anymore?
She laughs it off like it doesnt hurt. But really, it eats up inside of her.

Is this what its come to? Is this where it ends?

Why doesn't anyone notice? Why doesn't anyone care?
