For Benny (It's a new day)

by deeplydesturbed   Jan 23, 2017

As dawn lights ablaze with bright colours,
the iridescent wings of a butterfly shine.
The vibrancy of the flowers in the field begin to show,
letting the world know that today will be more than just fine.

Atop of the aged cliff, a lonely figure stands
watching the waves of the ocean roll in with the new day.
The myriad shades of blue were a reflection of her eyes;
the white foam rolling in is stuck on a inconsistent replay.

As orange and yellow stream through the clouds,
the day animals slowly awake from a night of deep slumber.
The whistling of the a slight, leafy breeze in the air is heard
and her natural hair blowing gently behind her shines the colour of umber.

Thunderous booms and flashing lights are behind her,
as the storm clouds from the previous day have moved on.
Her mind is no longer surrounded in eternal darkness;
seemingly never ending thoughts of death have gone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This spectacular sunrise has taught a lesson we can all learn from:
one day you may just wake up to find there is a way.
This is for a dear friend of mine who held out hope to see this written,
to see the tumulus clouds gone, for today is that new day.
To never ending hope. To forever giving love. To finally living life.
