Friendship, family /
You know, you really do give me strength
in your fractured fragility -
so close to tears and so close to courage.
How lucky am I to have you beside me
as the rain wept by and through us
like souls - perhaps to unbreak us.
How lucky am I not to be alone
when the wind enclosed us,
hushed and shy - perhaps to embrace us.
Here we are:
two broken, thrown away vases
lying on the ground
holding, carefully, yesterday's raindrops.
This beautiful piece gave me chills the first time I read it and it still does. Congrats on the win!!
I can't help falling in love with this one.
