Goodbye

by Lonely Rider   Aug 10, 2010

Distant voices knock
on the windowpane,
dancing memories cast
shadows of yesterdays,

Eternity ceased to exist.
Forever, lost in myriad
fragments of dreams,
scattered across
timeless void.

You left without a goodbye,
and I stood in the silence
of asphyxiating ashes.

Stars no longer fill my room,
emptiness lies behind
the trail of shooting star.

Each morn, I wake up fearing
if I missed your last words,
Your goodbye.

** This poem was originally a shape poetry that I wrote few days back, but since the allignment is not supported, I posted it as a free verse.

Brings old memories forth quite nicely, the pain of unrequited or lost love. Nicely expressed:)
