Darkness Crawls Around...

by Dreamofolwin   Oct 27, 2010

*This is a poem ( a Triolet) written about my fear of the dark as a child.

Darkness crawls around they call it night;
choking all my senses steathily...
Smothering my body causing fright;
darkness crawls around they call it night.
Frozen here I lie till mornings light;
my heartbeat pounding, deep inside of me.
Darkness crawls around they call it night;
choking all my senses steathily...

Unseen creatures whisper in my ear;
those that claim the fearful of the night.
My heartbeat quickens, footsteps ever near;
unseen creatures whisper in my ear.
Will they, shall they, ever disappear?
and calm my soul from horror and from fright.
Unseen creatures whisper in my ear;
those that claim the fearful of the night.
