It feels good to breathe.

by Everlasting   Mar 17, 2014

No one ever felt this close...

I'll always be a shore,
an open bay at any given day.
Come forth waves
Come forth waves

awash in me new morrows
awash in me, settle in,

please don't ebb into the sun
stay, stay with me

drown me with your scents,
cure my injuries, drenched me with salt,
help me heal.
It is you who knows me well.

it is you who doesn't step in me.

You are water: clear, and clean.
You are the sea, I'll drown in.
Move me, touch me, drench me,
soak me with your spirit
It doesn't matter when or where
I'll wait. I'll wait.
I'll be a shore,
an open bay at any given day.

Come forth waves
Come forth waves

Settle in.
Settle with me.

First off I like the repetition in this poem and just like the sea, like the waves it pulls the mind and calls it gently towards it, beautifully penned and as Sylvia said its professional!

You work is getting better and better. This is really touching, and is way above the normal poem I read on here. This qualifies as professional, no more amateur status on this one. You have chosen the right words, the repetition works, the message is clear and soothing. It does indeed make me want to breathe.

(Going to nominate can you move if from Love Genre so the Judges can see it to consider for the weekly contest.)

You need to look up Walt Whitman if you haven't heard of him, this poem reminds me so much of the type of thing he would write were he still alive. Amazing, as usuall I loved it. Keep up the great work. :)
