I'm No Chicken Little

by Therapoetic4   Mar 28, 2017

I'm no chicken little

I've always fancied my self more of an Atlas
And I've done nothing but encourage others
Whether, by puffery or omission, to agree.

I've actually had most of them convinced too!
That the vast sum of their worlds could balance
Safely and firmly between my shoulder blades.

But now, I'm a victim of my own design
Because not a single person I've told
Believes me when I try to warn them

The sky
IS
Falling

And there's not a thing I can do to stop it.

Being the victim of our own design is something most of us seem to know all too well.
    Nicely written.

We are the sum total of the things we tell ourselves about our reality... Right?

Really enjoyed this, not sure if I've got the true meaning but I'll take my own from it.
