Self Harm

The pain bled out and venting,
Or the pain you keep on writing,
Words put to text, scroll or parchment,
Or a blade that your inviting?

Bottled up inside, consuming,
Or do you let it free?
To show your not indestructible!
To admit you still have needs?

We all have our own issues,
We all carry our own scars.
Brains dishevelled and shredded.
Yet we still own our own hearts !

So much hurt to take on board,
"So much with which to deal"
!Well ! welcome to humanity
"Where things are f×€king real"

I've seen those marks upon your skin,
They made me shrink and cringe.
Take me back 27 years in history,

"I did a similar thing"

I did not seek attention,
Though admittedly it came,
I was not trying to be bold or hard
I just wanted to vent something.

So those criss cross lines upon your arm,
Or in places folks won't see.
In truth they're never gonna help
And they will not give you release !

For a little while you'll nurture them,
And you will pick away at that scab.
It will never give you peace or solace
Don't ignore the friends you have

! They are everything !
