My Dearet Papa

To my dearest papa
I want you to lend an ear
To what I am writing today
I hope it doesn't bring a tear.

For as long as I have known
You have been the strongest of all
You have been there for everyone
No matter short or tall.

To me you are a shinning star
You are my hero from the start
I will always look up to you
You've always had the biggest heart.

No matter what age you are
You work day in and day out
It's hard for you to sit around
You want to work without a doubt.

I know you have worked hard
Even where you don't realize
You are more than just papa
Your a father figure in my eyes.

You make me smile
When I get to talk with you
We tell jokes back and forth
The fun between us two.

Now as I get older
I understand much more
No one stays on earth forever
This makes every heart sore.

You still have many years ahead
To enjoy all the things you love
The many more family gatherings
And the lifetime full of hugs.

But I know I don't say enough
Of how much you mean to me
So this little poem is for you
To tell you all the things you may not see.

A person who served our country
A man with work in his hands
A loyal family man
A guy that protects his lands.

You are a hero
There is no doubt
A father to many
Let's all give you a shout!

As you can see papa
You mean the world to me
I just wanted you to know
That I think of you frequently.

I love you papa
May your days be grand
I will always be here
If you ever need a helping hand.
