Eyes

by Mortal Utopia   Jun 14, 2019

In the tomorrows to come
(no matter how many or few)
if you ever forget to see the good in you,
remember to borrow my eyes.
For I still see the hope you gave,
gentle as the breath that follows a melody.
And I'll write it down again and again
so I always will, no matter how near or far
into distant stars memories fade.
So please feel free to borrow my eyes,
despite all that I don't see -
but look!
There's something sparkling in front of me.

A nice little stanza of encouragement for someone who lifted
the writer with hope, who now has lost it. The writer gently
points out all the goodness in this person and is willing to be
there throughout no matter how long it takes. I like the subtle
rhymes and the flow...a nice read.
