Love is the only joke
in which I fell for
the punchline.

Life is too short for
bad jokes,
too short to be
right all the time,

not to laugh at the
things that cripple
us.

When your foot was
round my throat,

I was just pulling
your leg,

You loved me -

a one liner brushed
under my bed.

My sides split;
and all of me rushed
out.

I adore how you formatted this, and the impact of each line, especially the ending lines... like a punch to the gut for the reader. Again, you say so much in so many ways, and just everything works about this poem. I can't find other words!
