Golden

by Kate   Sep 18, 2021

Golden are the flecks in the iris of your eyes
A deep forest green lit with beautiful fireflies
Golden is the light your warm smile radiates
Coating my world in your gentle embrace
Golden are the strings of your fragile heart
Holding me so dear so that I don’t fall apart
Golden are the sweet words you always say
Changing skies to golden from darkened gray

Wonderfully written poem right here. I really like this one, im not always a fan of repetition, I find that people often over do it for my taste to the point that it can make me not even finish reading but I found this to be almost mesmerising, great descriptive writing just threw images at me left right and centre. Beautifully written.
