finding parallels. (Collab with Star)

“Blood marbles the sky”, you say quietly, hoping I don’t hear you.
I peek at the evening sky, a dramatic red & yellow—I’d liken it to
a fire. before blood. Why is there a looming violence in all things
you do—do you just unknowingly impart your hurt on things,
or were you so exposed to cruelty; it became a part of you?

I wonder if the past still cradles you within those ashy clouds that
sleds past our vision— “does your pain stroke the earth with blood too?
Do all your scars draw you a map?”. I wanted to ask but I was too afraid
to break the silence that followed your words.

Instead, I fixate my gaze on you, try to find a reflection of the
hemorrhaging sky in your eyes…

But to hold your gaze, on this warm evening is a cruel ask—
Do you know how tender your brown eyes are, even in this pale light?

The memories are still soft, to stir them into words would be to give
them weight, and of us two, I am not the one with the feet of a doe
so as to traverse it quietly, without leaving a lasting mark.

As if you read what’s on my mind, you shuffle yourself a little closer
to me, “do you remember our first spring?”, you mumble with a smile
that deepens the hues around us. I could feel the warmth of the setting
sun patting my shoulder—will this moment paint over your past?

We take turns warming the sky with soft whisperings, envious of the
lambent light on the horizon—we too, are born with something holy
(you more so than me). Night shall dew in mere hours, and we still
are trying to find the softest word—you say ‘tenderness’, you love how
love macerates the heart into something pliable, having that power over
others, and having it exerted over you.

I quietly say your name.

This was the best read in my recent stint here, something I could not currently write and better than 99% of mainstream song lyrics making the rounds today. You make such a clear image that I feel as if I were there, in that moment. This is some of the peak of poetry for me.
In short I believe this is material that would resound much further then the boundaries of this site.
This is the kind of poem that may finally break me away from mostly rhyming poems.

yes subjective, like truth. But what about objective truth??
I am just kidding. I don't get surprised if this win this week, because of the technique.
please keep on posting. You two bring warmth to this place.

I'd ask you, can emotion and objective truth co-exist in art? Whenever you introduce emotion, there are conscious and subconscious biases being introduced into the art. What would you say is an example of art that contains both objective truth, and some form of emotion?

I don't know guys. I love you both as great poets and as individuals, but collaboration does not work for me. I can almost say which stanza is whose, and how each stanza assumes following a non existing theme. But, there, cannot be a theme in collaboration, the theme appears in the middle towards end approximately and often is not solid. We try to put on some make up to impress the readers with the personal skills, which brings a lots of "Likes." But they are often not rich in their poetical contents.
Assuming the poetry is the production of inspiration first and then hard work, it is close to impossible to collaborate the same inspiration if there are two separate inspirations. No matter how skilfully we try to make it seamless still a careful eyes can detect the patches and seams.
I hope you do not get offended with my opinion because we are here to be honest with each other, right? instead of praising one another senselessly.
Also I know I could be wrong. It is just the matter of opinion perhaps.
I think collaboration is good as practice rather than real poetry. And you too have a lots of chemistry together there.

Art is subjective. Thank you for reading!
