My Death Dream

All alone in a room full of people,
They all just stop and stare.
Are they looking at me?
Those people who used to glare?

Everybody looks shocked,
Someone is even crying.
I walk around the corner,
Someone looks like they're dying.

There's a queue around me,
In the distance i see a coffin.
I guess someone is dead,
Their war they couldn't win.

It's my turn now,
I look down at the corpse.
All dressed up and pretty,
That one smile wasn't forced.

I can't recognise this person,
Too fake for me too see.
That their life was that messed up,
Is this how it's meant to be?

It's then that i see those scars,
And within i suddenly feel a pain.
That's me there lying dead,
The end of all my shame.

I didn't even know i was dead,
That's how empty i feel.
It wouldn't make a difference,
Time doesn't always heal.

I'm sorry I've left you behind,
But i just couldn't do it.
I felt alone too many times,
I said I'd never live to feel regret...
