Lonely Eyes

by Cindy   Dec 2, 2006

Lonely eyes, black and misty.
In my heart there is only misery.
Angels and light all around,
but in my soul none is found.

Lonely eyes on the happiest days,
because my mind is in a daze.
Kicked and beaten like a dog in the street.
With my wails of agony, you'll surely meet.

Contentment and blessings, I've found none,
Yet still I try to overcome.
Death and misery I am their son.
Light and good always try to enter me.
But my darkness counters,
no way to be free.

So here I will sit till my dying days.
With these lonely eyes for always.

Very deep poem, do hope things have changed. it hurts when we compare ourseleves to stray dogs on the streets and how they are treated.... but they too get a second chance and can lead better lives wit happy days xxxx
