Simple Pleasures

by Cindy   Mar 14, 2007

To be outside once again
Feeling the kiss of the wind
Running through my hair
Gently touching my skin

Sun shining on my face
Basking in it's wondrous glow
As it slowly burns away
All of my life's sorrows

My heart fills with joy again
My soul it is set free
Hearing birds singing their songs
This world now again I see

How these simple pleasures
Slowly passed me by
Then opening the window
Letting them once again inside

This poem is simply amazing, so elegant and simple, yet so powerful. It reminds me of the way I feel when I sit outside on a nice day, sometimes. :D
