God Needed An Angel

by Cindy   Mar 26, 2007

Don't know how to move ahead
Without you here holding my hand
You've been with me since I was born
There's nobody else who could understand

You've been my courage and my strength
Whenever I felt to weak to carry on
You were my rock that helped me stand
It's so hard to think of you as gone

The call came that you were soon to die
The family all gathered at your side
You knew I could not come to you
Did you hear my prayers and tears I cried

Why does everyone I love go away
God called you to your home above
You had grown weary and very weak
Didn't he see I still needed your love

All our midnight phone calls
All the jokes and secrets we told
You could make my pain disappear
Oh Mamaw " Why did you grow old"

No more of your stories can you tell
But they will still be shared
For I will pass your memories on
So the babies know how much you cared

Mamaw I still can't believe your not here with me,
holding my hand. When ever you were feeling good
you came to me. I could not have been given a better
friend. You meant the world to me. We shared so much,
the same griefs, burdens, sorrows, and pain. You
understood things that no one else did. I love you and
miss you. I know what you would tell me right now if you
were able to. I can hear your voice. " Cindy honey,
you need to be strong for your mommy and those babies,
so dry those eyes for Mamaw now. There that's a good girl,
now smile before your mommy sees you crying."
I hear you Mama... I love you and Good-bye till I see you again.

Sad but beautiful. She is waiting in a perfect place of no pain or sorrow, smiling down upon us. One day we will all be reunited. Excellent job on this piece! I LOVE YOU!!!

Im sorry for your loss Cindy, and this poem is very beautiful. With every word it showed how much love you hold inside and that is a beautiful thing. I know its hard to lose people you love but Im sure they'll meet us in heaven, and I pray that you get through this difficult time.
