My Night

Voices whisper
Deep in my ears
Sadness settles
As day disappears

In my room
Laying on my bed
Anything to relax
To rest my spinning head

Thoughts race through
My poor exhausted mind
Dreams fall over
My body is left behind

I dislike my dreams
As they despise me
All I can do
Is wish to be free

Trapped in the gap
Of my world so scary
I am alone and dead
Cold and weary

The smell of blood
The taste of deceit
A cold body
Burning bruised feet

Terror fills,
The empty heart
Being drowned in tears
Being torn apart

By the time morning arrives
It seems like years
No rest for me
As I awake with fresh tears
