! PURGE !

As I sit and write things down,
I sometimes wonder why I do.
I spill my words in crimson ink
And the bulk of it is true.

I have no choice at this time,
The words just find a way.
They're always going to be set free,
By what I write or what I say.

I once thought that it was venting,
But everything simply isn't such.
I write of things that inspire me
And of the softest word or touch.

I tend to express in simple terms,
Because I don't like elongation,
But do I write to be free and purge
Or is this just self flagellation !

    Hi craig I like this alot. The flow and rhythm is perfect and the sentiment to in my opinion. Some things just flow out on to the page and others takes a little longer - I have a stanza written and it's been in drafts a month and 1/2 yet the pieces I have written recently (and I feel in our worst and best times they just come out) I have done so straight to the page and posted.

      For the most part things are free written in recent times.

      I don't have to think, (perhaps I should) things flow when they flow. Perhaps I need a dam inside my head lol.
