What A Nerve

by CJ Maleney   Feb 19, 2019

I shouldn't react, yet I do!
I should feel no pain, yet I do.
Involuntary actions are not something I'm akin to.
Yet I have no control and spasms grip me.

I have not a wound to bleed,
Nor any broken bones.
No noticeable injury adorns this shell.
And still I feel damaged!

Some may argue that to be numb is a blessing!
I would rather endure pain than this numbness!

I would happily take those sticks and all those stones.
Because the pins and needles are driving me insane.

    Man, I feel your pain.
I remember having an ongoing issue. I went to a 70 year old back doctor. She was 5ft nothing, but managed to lift me from the floor and realign my spine and correct my problem.
    Go see a specialist.

See my new poem. It's for you!

Had a trapped nerve (my self prognosis) for months now and it's driving me nuts. Can't even maintain a correct posture.

I get phantom pains through my shoulder, arm and hand as result. I can kinda deal with that and ignore it, but that horrible tingly numb sensation that flows through my arm is vile

I seriously pity people who have to endure this as a permanent state of being

The human body is an amazing piece of engineering. When it goes wrong though it really goes wrong.
