Poetry clubs

With a community as large as P&Q, it's easy to get lost amidst thousands of people that visit this site daily. Poetry club is a sub-community where people with common interests, age or writing style can find each other. You can join one of the clubs to meet people who are similar to you.

If no club matches your interests, you can start a new club. Also you can apply to become an assistant in a club that is not active yet (favorite's or writer's silver award is required to become a club manager or assistant).

This is a place for either good poets or poets with large potential who are serious about the improvement of their work through very in depth critique and observation, and who are also serious about reading and giving a quality assessment to others' work.
 

Requirements :

Every poem read is a poem commented on, and if you feel like tossing a vote in there too, kudos to you. There is no point in reading a poem if you're not going to help the writer improve, which is the entire philosophy of this group. It is an expectation that for every poem you post, you comment to someone else who is in the group at least once. This ensures that everyone is participating and everyone is getting insight into their work. I am going to screen applicants for both their reasoning behind wanting to get in and their quality of work. There wont be any mediocrity in this group. Not every poet is going to get accepted, and you will be automatically denied for not supplying a reason for wanting to join. To be in this group, you must be willing to read and give honest and detailed critique of many other quality poems. You give, and you shall recieve. Again, the poems you'll be assessing will be from GOOD poets, or ones with huge potential that we get to help hone, not 12 year olds. This is a place for teenagers who are facing depression, eating disorders, low self esteem, stress, anxiety and the like. Here they can talk about their problems in a controlled environment that will hopefully help. Here we help to encourage poetry as a release to your problems but to try and improve. We do ask you to read other peoples poems and there is no other really big requirements then that. Just that we do not anyone that will be crude and rate someones poems all "1"s . You really dont have to rate/comment all. The minimum is like 1 poem.
