If Tomorrow Does Not Come

If tomorrow does not come to me,
You know, I would not care!
There would still be a place somewhere for me,
And my friends are waiting there.

At this time I do not feel morose,
Yet perhaps a little sad.
Old friends and loved ones lost, I'll see again,
They'll accept all my good and bad.

I've done so much in this short life,
And I am not yet ready to go.
Still so much for me to do,
And paths I've yet to know.

When my time is over!
When my force, depleted and faded.
When I can say "yes" I've loved it all,
With my memories left un jaded.

I don't think I'll live a long life,
But I'll still clock up some years.
when I go smile for me,
And do not shed your tears.

If there is a heaven!
I'm sure mine will be river, lake or sea.
To kayak, canoe, sail or row,
To float eternally.

If tomorrow does not come for me?
I will accept, with humility.
I've buzzed from every experience,
It's what I was born and will die to be.

    I wrote this short while ago following the unexpected and untimely news of am old army mates death. It caused the thought process. What if? And am I ready

    Absolutely love this and how ready you are to go when you're time comes... There's no use dwelling on what could have, should have or would have been just live life to the fullest as you do and carry on being yourself. I loved this particular stanza "If there is a heaven!
    I'm sure mine will be river, lake or sea.
    To kayak, canoe, sail or row,
    To float eternally." as it is you down to a tee, fabulous
