The Farewell Shuffle

by Kitty Cat Lady   Jul 2, 2020

This dance we do is out of step
No harmony and no respect
As we invade each other's space
And steal the air that's not replaced

Treading on each other's toes
Less like lovers, more like foes
The dance is now a dull, sad beat
A farewell shuffle of defeat.

Excellent little piece, Kitty, and a fine return to writing from you, despite the inherent sadness.

    All the best as ever

I could imagine this as a really short song. Meena is right - lots of feelings in such a short few lines.

Great rhyming (as usual) Very topical especially for many people who are most likely at the end of their tether having had to endure lockdown for long periods with family members. Milly x
