As she sits in Silence

by Kat   Dec 2, 2020

As she sits in silence,
trying to gather strength,
with a heavy heart in her chest
and eyes zoned out...
unable to blink.
As she sits in silence,
twisting her engagement ring in her hand,
she thinks of better times
spent with
a happier man.
As she sits in silence,
contemplating her next move,
she jots down the list
of the hurtful words,
so crude.
As she sits in silence,
Broken pieces of her heart
come unglued.
Being strong for too long,
unable to fill such big shoes.
As she sits in silence,
the truth, so plain to see..
This woman sitting in silence,
I am her and she is me.
